Therrien has extensive history and expertise in NHL coaching, returning for his second stint with the Montreal Canadians after having detoured to coach the Pittsburgh Penguins for a period in between. Therrien also has experience coaching in the QMJHL, and played in the AHL for many seasons.
The current coach for the Minnesota Wild and former coach for the Washington Capitals and Anaheim Ducks, Boudreau has well established himself in the NHL coaching world. As a former player for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Chicago Blackhawks, this Jack Adams Award-winning coach is expected to make a splash at this year's Allstar Weekend.
Tortorella was unable to make the Allstar Game due to a family matter, and who else but Wayne Gretzky stepped in! Gretzky is well known as a hockey legend, having played twenty seasons with four different teams. He is the leading scorer in NHL history, and the only player to score more than 200 points in a season, a feat which he accomplished four separate times. Gretzky had a brief stint as head coach of the Pheonix Coyotes, and it should be interesting to see "The Great One" coach again.
DeBoer has been the head of many professional hockey teams. His coaching career began with 13 seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, then his years with the NHL Florida Panthers and New Jersey Devils. DeBoer is now the head coach of the San Jose Sharks, three of whom came with DeBoer as Allstars playing in the game. With three of his top players already accustomed to his coaching style and each other, it'll be hard for other teams and coaches to get around DeBoer's skills.
